Rockburn Presbyterian Church host their Roast Pork Dinner on Saturday, May 7th from 5-8pm in the Rockburn Hall.

A newsletter will be printed for Sunday, May 8th.  If you have items to be included, please let Barbara know by Wednesday, May 4th.

The deadline is approaching for the Hugh Duncan and IFE bursaries offered through Montreal Presbytery.  Application forms are available in the churches or at the Presbytery’s website:  www.montrealpresbytery.ca

The United Church has actually launched 2 special appeals: one to respond to the earthquake in Ecuador and another for the victims of drought in Ethiopia and southern Africa.  Prayers are invited and donations may be made to these appeals either through the church’s website:  w.united-church.ca; by phone with a credit card to: 1-800-268-3781ext.2738 or by mail with a cheque, money order, or credit card information to: The United Church of Canada, Philanthropy Unit – Emergency Response, 3250 Bloor St West, Suite 300, Toronto, ON, M8X 2Y4.  If you are sending a cheque, please note on the memo line which appeal your donation is meant for.  


22 nominated candidates have been chosen to receive the Janet Mc Crory Tremblay Memorial Achievement Awards for 2016. All chosen candidates have “contributed to improving their peers’ lives or the lives of the community members of their school or environment.” A list of names will be published after all recipients have received their awards.

Baptism of  Bree Elizabeth Tannahill, daughter of Emily Templeton and Scott Tannahill. 

We hold in our thoughts and prayers the family of Sybil Gruer, who died on Tuesday and whose funeral service was held yesterday. 

Howick United Church will be holding its Spring Salad Luncheon on Saturday, April 30th, from 11:30-1:00.  Admission: Adults $12; Ages 5 to 12: $6.Takeouts available. 
Rockburn Presbyterian Church will be holding its Roast Pork dinner on Saturday, May 7th in the Rockburn Hall. 

The United Theological College will be holding its Convocation celebration on Wednesday, May 4th at 2pm in St James United Church, 463 Ste Catherine St, Montreal.

What's Happening

Announcements for Sunday, April 17th


Unit B ladies from Howick United Church have invited Kim Wilson and Jayme McClintock from the New Frontiers School Board to speak on the afternoon of April 19th at 2pm at Howick United Church. Kim and Jayme work as community outreach co-ordinators and can offer a great deal of information about what services and programs are available to us in the Chateauguay Valley. An open invitation is extended to the community.

The Annual Meeting of the Howick/Aubrey/St-Chrysostome executive of the Barrie Memorial Hospital Auxiliary takes place April 20th at 10:15 am in the Library at the Pink School, Howick.

Huntingdon United Church will be holding its Spring Luncheon on April 21st from 11:30-1:30. 

Howick United Church will be holding its Spring Salad Luncheon on Saturday,
April 30th from 11:30-1:00.  Admission: Adults $12; Ages 5 to 12: $6.
Please come to enjoy a delicious meal while supporting a church fund raiser.
Also, volunteers are needed as waitresses, clean-up, washing dishes and so on. Conveners will be in touch about food.

The final Presbyterial UCW meeting will be held to celebrate its work and ministry through the years as well as its closing, on Tuesday, April 26th at SouthWest United Church 1445 Clemenceau, Verdun, from 10-2pm.  All are welcome to attend.  Cost is $10.  Registration is requested by April20th.  Please call Janice Knowles at 450-264-3163 or Shirley Stark at 514-363-5843.

What's Happening

Announcements for Sunday, April 10th


Collection of items for Volunteer Experience in the mountains of the Dominican Republic: 12 students and teachers from the practical nursing program in Ormstown are traveling to the DR to volunteer their services.  We are collecting school supplies (workbooks, pencils, erasers, etc), Toiletry items (toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, etc) and medical supplies (band-aids, handwash, etc) to donate to the communities that we visit. A basket will be left in the Narthex for any donations, thank you! Debbi Templeton can pick up items as well, please call if you want to donate items.


Huntingdon County Hospital Bazaar and Bake Sale: Friday, April 15 - 9:30-2:00. Also, Spaghetti Dinner, 11:00-2:00, $10 adults,$5 children5-12, under 5, free.
